Armor-Tile, suppliers of ADA detectable strips - Surface Applied Animation Video
Armor-Tile, one of the leading suppliers of ADA detectable strips and tiles, is so proud of their product, you’ll find the Armor-Tile name etched on the side of every tactile panel they manufacture. Featuring a bevelled edge, to comply with Americans with Disabilities (ADA) regulations for panels that could cause tripping, the full line of Armor-Tile detectable warning systems can be installed easily by following these steps, further illustrated in the video:
Trace the perimeter
Prepare the concrete with a mini grinder to remove impurities
Clean and prepare the tiles, also removing impurities from the back and sides
Apply adhesive around the perimeter edge, being careful not to fill the inside back of the domes, as this will breach the effectiveness of the domes’ auditory alert
Press tile firmly into place and drill fastener holes into the concrete
When installing fasteners, a plastic deadblow or leather hammer is recommended to minimize damage to the tile
Mask the tile perimeter
Apply sealant and smooth it out with a trowel or spatula
Remove masking tape immediately after tooling sealant
As one of the leading suppliers of ADA detectable strips, Armor-Tile is keen on providing the necessary resources and support for their customers to make informed decisions.
