Tactile tiles: Added Strength For Those Who Take Advantage
Advantage Tactile tiles were developed as an even stronger line of detectable warning, specifically for areas of harsh environmental and vehicular conditions. Using regular Armor-Tile tactile tiles as a lift-off, a new product was produced – one that would be impervious to snow removal equipment, extreme weather and abusive environments.

Manufactured from stainless steel, Advantage Tactile tiles contain a slip-resistant element integrated right into the composition of the tile. Even if the durable, slip-resistant finish were not applied or had completely worn off, the resulting tactile tiles would still provide adequate traction. This double safeguard was implemented specifically for industrial and warehouse-related workplaces, such as Home Depot, where Advantage Tactile tiles are specified at all loading doors. With material-handling equipment such as forklifts, retrieval machines and pallet jacks constantly rolling by, came a need for more durable tactile tiles than were being implemented in pedestrian areas.
This video extrapolates upon the features of Advantage Tactile tiles and their applications, through conversations with people in the industry and those who helped develop them.
