The Simpson Strong-Tie SSTB Anchor Bolts are designed for maximum performance as anchor bolts for holdowns and shear walls. Traditionally, an anchor bolt is used to attach objects or structures to concrete. There are many types of anchor bolts, which consist of a threaded end to which a nut and washer can be attached for the external load. Anchor bolts are extensively used on all types of projects, from standard building to dams and nuclear power plants.
Some of the features of the Simpson Strong-Tie SSTB Anchor Bolt that make it unique include identification on the bolt head showing embedment angle and model, a stamped embedment line and rolled thread for higher tensile capacity. In addition, an offset angle reduces side bursting and provides more concrete cover. The general configuration results in minimum rebar interference.

SSTB® Anchor Bolts
Simpson Strong-Tie SSTB Anchor Bolts can be used for monolithic and two-pour installations. A monolithic pour refers to a concrete pour where the concrete is cast in a single pour, thus it contains no joints. A monolithic pour is often used when pouring footings and foundations, thereby saving time and money. Two-pour installations are just as they sound, with two separate concrete batches poured at different times. The advantage is far easier formwork.
It is important to note that the SSTB Anchor Bolt must not be used if there is a horizontal cold joint within the embedment depth of the bolt. This means that whatever concrete you are bolting into, make sure that it has no chance of breaking apart from whatever its attached to by embedding an anchor bolt into it.
The Simpson Strong-Tie SSTB Anchor Bolt has been designed and tested specifically for shallow foundation installations which, with its extensive testing, has made it one of the most reliable anchor bolts on the market.
