SET High Strength Epoxy
SET high strength epoxy is specially formulated for threaded rod anchoring, rebar dowelling, bonding hardened concrete to hardened concrete, providing pick-proof sealing around doors, windows and fixtures, and acting as a paste-over for crack injections.
The first step in using Simpson Strong Tie SET high strength epoxy is drilling and cleaning the hole that will be used to anchor. The high strength epoxy generally performs well to excellent against distilled water, inorganic acids and alkalis, and fair to good against organic acids and alkalis and many organic solvents. In order to achieve these results the conditions under which the epoxy is applied must be optimal – clean and dry with a temperature of 70-80 degrees Fahrenheit, for best results.
Another key step in ensuring the effectiveness of Simpson Strong Tie SET high strength epoxy is allowing the epoxy to do its job. After you have filled the hole up to 2/3 of the way full with high strength epoxy and inserted the clean anchor, it is imperative to give the anchor enough time to let the epoxy cure without disturbing it.
